The EEU Commission has made changes to the lists and rates of duty for enriched flour

On September 29, the Eurasian Economic Union Commission amended the Single Commodity Nomenclature of Foreign Economic Activity and the Common Customs Tariff of the EAEU, as well as the list of sensitive goods for which the decision to change the rate of import duty is made by the Council of the EAEU with regard to enriched flour. The Commission's provisions in this respect will be discussed below. Cereal products are classified on the basis of the Customs Union's Foreign Trade Nomenclature classification using the TN VED codes.

Changes in the nomenclature of goods

Several significant changes were introduced to the unified commodity nomenclature in the field of foreign economic activity of the EEU and the Single Customs Tariff of the Eurasian Economic Union (Annex to the Decision of the Eurasian Economic Commission Council No. 54 of 16 July 2012). The first of the changes is that durum wheat products (code TN VED 1101 00 110 0) and soft wheat and spelled (code 1101 00 150 0) are excluded from the unified commodity nomenclature.

Inclusion of enriched flour into the Customs Nomenclature

Another change is that this nomenclature includes durum wheat, soft wheat and spelled products with a content of vitamin B1 and its derivatives not less than 1.2 mg/kg but not more than 2.8 mg/kg, vitamins B2 and its derivatives not less than 2.1 mg/kg but not more than 3.9 mg/kg, vitamin B3 and its derivatives not less than 9 mg/kg but not more than 11 mg/kg, vitamin B9 and its derivatives not less than 0.5 mg/kg but not more than 1.5 mg/kg, iron (as NaFeEDTA) not less than 12 mg/kg but not more than 18 mg/kg, zinc (as ZnO ) not less than 24 mg/kg, but not more than 36 mg/kg (codes 1101 00110 1 and 1101 00 150) and others.

New duty rates for enriched flour

For the above products with TN VED codes, new rates of import duties were introduced. The 10% duty was imposed on products with codes 1101 00 110 1 and 1101 00 110 9. The lower duty rate applies to the codes 1101 00 150 1 and 1101 00 150 9, for which we will pay 7.5% of their import value.

New items on the list of sensitive goods

The list of sensitive goods was also amended. In this list, it was decided to replace the products with the code TN VED 1101 00 150 0 by the code 1101 00 150 1 discussed earlier, which applies to flours enriched with B vitamins, iron and zinc and with the code 1101 00 150 9.
