Public discussion on extending the GOST standard development program for fish products
From February 24, 2021, in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, there was a public discussion on the draft changes to the development program and revision of international standards, the implementation of which is necessary to meet the requirements of the technical regulation TR 040/2016 EAEU "On safety of fish products".
Supplementing the project with 3 new fish and shrimp products
The draft includes changes, or more precisely, additions, which were approved by the decision of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission No. 68 of April 23, 2019.
After an appropriate revision of the international standards for the safety of fish and fish products, it was proposed to supplement the project with three new items:
- natural shrimp preserves
- canned fish liver with vegetable toppings
- canned fish in broth, marinade or sauce
Russia will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the standards
Updating and implementing the relevant GOST standards is necessary to ensure compliance with the safety requirements for fish products, as set out in Section V of the Technical Regulations.
The development and implementation of new standards are planned for 2022-2023. The entity responsible for the implementation in the Eurasian Economic Union will be the Russian Federation. All other Eurasian Economic Union member states will assist in the development of updated standards.
