List of fish products that will be subject to conformity assessment submitted to public discussion
From May 12 to June 11, 2021, in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, a public discussion on the draft approval of the list of products, which, when declaring a customs declaration, also require the submission of a conformity assessment document (or information about such document) in accordance with the requirements of the technical regulations TR EAEU 040/2016 "On the safety of fish and fish products ” is taking place.
Types of conformity assessment documents
It is important to know that there are three types of documents in the draft list of fish products subject to conformity assessment:
- veterinary certificate
- declaration of conformity
- certificate of state registration
The type of authorization required depends on the type of product. All fish products subject to the project are described in the further part of this article. The project explains the need for a specific document. A veterinary certificate should be obtained for unprocessed food, including baby food, while as a general rule a declaration of conformity is intended for processed food products. For a new type of products and processed products used in production of baby food, it is required to obtain a certificate of state registration.
What fish products does the project concern?
The project includes 22 fish products, for instance:
- prepared soups, broths or soup concentrates containing fish
- pasta with a filling containing fish products
- crustaceans, molluscs and other seafood
- smoked, dried, salted or brined fish
- fish fillets etc.
The TE NED EAEU code groups are provided for each name. When identifying products, it is necessary to use both the product name and this code.
