Eurasian Economic Union adopted transitional provisions of the Technical Regulation for packaged drinking water.

On November 7, 2017, The College of the Eurasian Economic Commission made Decision of No. 135 “On transitional provisions of the Technical Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Union “On the safety of packaged drinking water, including natural mineral water” (TR EAEU 044/2017)”.

It was decided, that the documents on the assessment of compliance of packaged drinking water with requirements are valid not later than July 1, 2020. Before this date, it is allowed to produce and sell products which quality was confirmed according such documents.

From January 1, 2019, the date TR EAEU 044/2017 will enter into force, it will be forbidden to accept new documents on the assessment of compliance of packaged drinking water by the rules of the previously established legislative acts.

Until July 1, 2019, products that are not subject to mandatory assessment of compliance with requirements prior to the date TR EAEU 044/2017 will enter into force (January 1, 2019) may be produced and sold. In any case, the sale of packaged drinking water is allowed only during its shelf life.

Also, The College of the Eurasian Economic Commission decided to prepare drafts of 3 legislative acts in purpose of harmonization the legislation with technical regulation “On the safety of packaged drinking water, including natural mineral water”.
