Conformity assessment of home electronic equipment and computer equipment
On February 3, 2021, on the website of the Federal Accreditation Service, the conclusions of the meeting of the working group for the activities of accredited bodies in the field of conformity assessment of computer and home electrical equipment were published. The council functions as part of the Public Council at the RusAccreditation.
Cooperation of companies and institutions from the electronics industry
A meeting on this matter was held on January 26 under the chairmanship of the President of the Association of Commercial Companies and Producers of Household and Computer Electrical Equipment. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Federal Accreditation Service, the National Accreditation Institute, representatives of the electrical and computer equipment manufacturers, as well as importers and interested accreditation bodies.
One of the most important topics of the discussed meeting of the working group were the results of the work of the Interdepartmental Council for National Quality Infrastructure on the merger of accreditation bodies to the national part of the unified register of conformity assessment units in the EAEU.
The discussions during the meeting show that all certification bodies and centers located in the national part of the Single Register, as expected, underwent successfully the necessary reassessment procedure. At the same time, you can see what information about a specific certification body is in the Unified Register. This is possible thanks to the services offered through the Federal Statistical Service of the Russian Accreditation Agency.
The specifics of the operation of the Federal Information System and further prospects for its development, as well as the possibility of changing the place of implementation of activities by the certification body without going through the procedure of confirming competences, were also discussed among the interested entities from the electronics industry.
Electromagnetic compatibility of technical devices
Another important issue raised during the meeting was the minimum number of samples of electrical and computer equipment that is necessary to assess compliance with the requirements of the technical regulation TR CU 020/2011 "Electromagnetic compatibility of technical devices".
The technical regulations on electromagnetic compatibility of technical devices have been in force in the Eurasian Economic Union since February 15, 2013. Pursuant to Art. 7 of the Technical Regulations, all devices included in Annex 3 to the document are subject to mandatory certification. These include, among others, electric pumps, printers, lighting equipment, as well as many other devices. In the case of technical equipment not listed in the Annex, it is sufficient to register the declaration of conformity.
