Agreement on labelling goods with the means of identification was approved in the Eurasian Economic Union.

On October 2, 2017, the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission has adopted disposition №29 and approved a draft Agreement on labelling goods with the means of identification in the Eurasian Economic Union. The Agreement was sent to the member states of the EAEU with the purpose of conducting internal procedures.

The Agreement defines the procedure for marking goods with identification signs unified within the Union. The document applies to legal entities and individual entrepreneurs that produce and sell goods subject to labeling, as well as to issuers.

The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission will make decisions on the labeling of goods based on proposals of member states of the Union. The Agreement established that the Council should take into account the impact of marking introduction on business conditions, technological possibility of labelling goods, and information about other control systems for such goods.

In order to control goods subject to marking, member states of the EAEU should provide in their legislation the responsibility for non-fulfillment of the requirements established by the Agreement.
