Russia is working on state standards for extreme robotics
Scientists from the All-Russian Research Institute for Civil Defense and Emergency Situations are working on the development of three new GOST standards for extreme robotics.
What is extreme robotics?
The concept of extreme robotics includes robots designed to operate in extreme conditions, including emergency situations. The key to extreme robotics is meeting high technical parameters. The idea is that machines should not be put into service if they can fail when used on objects or in an emergency.
Robotics is of great importance in the 21st century
Currently, robotics is widely used - both in the private and public sectors. Robots have long been used in companies outside the automation industry in the strict sense. The artificial intelligence used in their production quickly spreads over the next sectors, effectively increasing work efficiency.
Robotics is also used in the public sector - primarily in machines and instruments used for civil defense or defense against natural disasters such as floods, fires or extreme weather conditions. Robotics is also well suited to tackling the challenges of human-caused disasters.
Technical regulations on robotics
The development of standards is related to the program of developing documents for the technical regulations "On the safety of civil defense equipment and protection against natural and man-made disasters". According to the adopted schedule, these regulations will enter into force in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union on June 1, 2023.
