Rosstandart will review the requirements for importing cement into the EAEU
The Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology (Rosstandart) plans to amend the GOST R 56836-2016 standard entitled "Conformity assessment. Principles of Cement Certification ”in order to simplify the procedure of importing cement into the country.
Inspection control will not be required for every batch
Rosstandart decided to exempt from the cement certification rules the requirement that the certification body has to carry out an inspection control (IC), including border sampling, testing and checking of all characteristics provided for by the national standard, separately for each imported cement batch whose country of origin is different from the countries belonging to the Eurasian Economic Union.
Changing the time for certification
Lack of inspection control for each batch of the product is not the only important change. Another is to shorten the time limit for foreign cement certification. It will last for 28 days, which is exactly the duration of the inspection procedure in accordance with the regulations.
The changes will stabilize cement prices
According to the information from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, these measures will improve the demand for cement in the country by increasing competition and stabilizing the price level on the building materials market. The changes have been approved by the sector of entrepreneurs who hope that they will have a positive impact on the domestic cement production.
