Producers will have to re-register the SGR for bottled drinking water
Due to the coming into force changes in the technical regulations for bottled drinking water, producers will be required to re-issue the state registration certificate for these products.
Certificate of State Registration of product
The SGR is the Certificate of State Registration in the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union. This document confirms the quality and safety of the product introduced into circulation on the territory of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia. A common list of goods subject to sanitary and epidemiological controls has been in force since 2010. The certificate is issued by the Federal Service for the Supervision of Consumer Rights.
Amendments to the technical regulations TR EAEU 044/2017
According to the schedule, from January 1, 2022, some new regulations apply to the technical regulation TR EAEU 044/2017 "On the safety of packaged drinking water, including natural mineral water". It was adopted under the ECE Council Decision No. 182 of December 21, 2021. Due to the adopted changes, manufacturers have to re-issue state registration certificates (SGR) for products.
The most important provisions of the document
According to the document, the state registration certificates for drinking water added to baby food, medicinal mineral water and natural mineral water are valid until December 31, 2022. After this time, it will be necessary to renew the certificates for these products, as they are subject to the new requirements on microbiological safety indicators.
Easier procedure for obtaining a new SGR
Producers will have an easier path to obtain new GSC state registration certificates. Manufacturers can obtain them without the need to provide a full package of documents regarding technical regulations, but only by providing test reports of these products in accordance with the newly adopted requirements.
