EAEU has updated the commodity nomenclature in the list of food additives and flavorings
On December 20, 2021, the decision of the EAEU Management Board No. 175 was published, accepting changes to the list of products for which the customs declaration should be submitted along with conformity assessment documents or information about such a document in relations to the requirements of the technical regulation TR CU 029/2012 "Requirements for the safety of food additives, flavors and technological auxiliaries ".
On January 1st, many changes to the nomenclature will come into force
The document was adopted a week earlier - on December 14. Its entry into force is scheduled for January 1, 2022. It is not an accidental date, because from that date other similar decisions will also come into force, the purpose of which is to update the codes of the commodity nomenclature of the EAEU's foreign economic activity in connection with the implementation of the next edition of the commodity nomenclature.
What are the key changes?
The published changes will result in the deletion of the code "from 3503 00" in item 1 "Thickening agents and gelling agents", and the replacement of codes in items:
- 5 - sweeteners
- 14 - aromas used in food production (mixtures of essential oils, fragrance extracts, etc.)
- 48 - anionic, surface-active organic substances, which are technological auxiliaries according to the manufacturer's documentation
- 57 - simple polyesters, which are processing aids according to the manufacturer's documentation
In addition to the above-mentioned changes, the new version contains the EAEU nomenclature of goods covered by the foreign trade code for heading 55 - organic fungicides and disinfectants, which, according to the manufacturer's documentation, constitute technological aids in the production of food. Thus, the codes "3808 59 000 5", "3808 92 800 0" and "3808 94 800 0" will be used instead of the codes "3808 92 900 0" and "3808 94 900 0".
Additional information about the list
We would like to remind you that the list of products for which the customs declaration must be accompanied by a document (information about it) on the conformity assessment TR CU 029/2012 was approved on October 8, 2019 by the decision of the EEC Management Board No. 172. Currently, the list is 60 items grouped into three sections: food additives and complex food additives, flavorings and technological aids. All of them provide a declaration of conformity or a certificate of state registration or information on state registration in one register.
