Disinfectants’ and antiseptics’ labelling - an experiment will be conducted
On May 15, 2021, an experiment on the labeling of disinfectants and antiseptics will begin on the territory of the Russian Federation. Information on this matter was published on March 24 on the website of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Videoconference - time to discuss the experiment
The press service of the department informed about the meeting of the State Commission for Combating Illicit Trade in Industrial Goods in the form of a videoconference. The main topic of the meeting was a business initiative aimed at conducting an experiment on the labeling of disinfectants and antiseptics.
This is not the first approach to the topic. This issue was previously discussed by the Interministerial Working Group on Combating Illicit Trade in Medical and Pharmaceutical Products working at the aforementioned Committee. The discussion was attended by delegates from the producers of disinfectants, antiseptics, representatives of federal authorities and even non-profit social organizations interested in this subject. Hand hygiene (these products carry an antimicrobial statement on the labels of consumer containers).
The result of the meeting of the State Commission was the approved draft ordinance on conducting a labelling experiment from May 15, 2021 to August 31, 2022. Detailed procedures for the mandatory labeling of disinfectants and antiseptics will be known after the experiment that is to provide data in this regard.
Additional topics during the meeting
Another important issue in the field of technical regulations was raised during the meeting. It concerns the preliminary results of inspections of manufacturers and importers of buses in terms of compliance with the requirements of the technical regulation in force in the Eurasian Economic Union "On the safety of wheeled vehicles". It was reported that more than 4,000 vehicles were recalled due to non-compliance with the requirements of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology.
