Specific groups of products and meals are no longer subject to accompanying veterinary documents in Russia.

Ministry of Agriculture of Russia changed legislation that controls the quality of foods. On July 1, 2018, Order № 251 of 27 June 2018 «On introducing changes to the list of controlled goods subject to accompanying veterinary accompanying documents, approved by Order of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia of December 18, 2015, № 648» entered into force.

Few groups of products were eliminated from the list of controlled goods, particularly:

  • cooked (dried, salted or smoked) crustaceans, mollusks, and other aquatic invertebrates, as well as flour from them;
  • dairy products made from pasteurized, ultra-pasteurized, sterilized, ultra-high-temperature-processed (UHT) milk or pasteurized, ultra-pasteurized, sterilized, ultra-high-temperature-processed (UHT) milk products manufactured industrially and packed in consumer packaging;
  • cooked meals of plant origin (pasta and cereals, except corn; products of processing of vegetables, fruits, nuts or other parts of plants; soups, broths, and preparations for their preparation) with a filling from products of animal origin (fish, crustaceans, mollusks, other aquatic invertebrates, sausages, meat, meat offal, blood, milk, dairy products, other foods of animal origin, or any combination of these foods) if such filling is less than half of the meal.
